Visitor Information

The region is located on the Central Tablelands with the peaks of Mt. Canobolas and Mt Macquarie dominating the landscape. Throughout you'll find rolling hills, bubbling streams, green grass, blue skies and all the colours you associate with the distinct seasons.

With Blayney Shire's clean country air, a central location and four distinct seasons, a tour or holiday is a very worthwhile experience.

At the heart of Blayney Shire lies the major service and administration centre, Blayney. Within a short distance are the historic villages of Carcoar and Millthorpe, while history also abounds in the other settlements of Lyndhurst, Mandurama, Neville and Newbridge.

The Belubula River is the dominant water course. It starts in the high country between Bathurst and Orange, passes by the eastern side of Blayney then flows into Carcoar Dam, an aquatic playground that is most popular with sailors, windsurfers, water skiers and fishermen.

For more information on accommodation, tourist attractions and other local visitor information, contact The Cottage on (02) 6368 3534 or visit the Blayney Heritage Country site.
