Blayney Bike Plan - Published: 02 Sep 2009
Blayney Shire Council has engaged QED Pty Ltd to prepare a Bike Plan and Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan (PAMP) for the town of Blayney.This Bike Plan and PAMP will help Council manage funds and attract additionalfunds to achieve the following objectives:

  • Reduce the number of missing links and severance for cyclists and pedestrians moving about the town;
  • Increase use of the bike and pedestrian network for short trips (1.5 to 2 kilometres);
  • Reduce the number of bike and pedestrian accidents including trips, motor vehicles, bicycles and other wheeled forms of transport;
  • Provide pedestrian facilities that cater for the needs of all pedestrians including people with disabilities, commuters, children, seniors andrecreational walkers;
  • Meet obligations under the Commonwealth Disability Discrimination Act (1996)and Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport;
  • Link with Safer Routes to Schools projects.

Blayney Shire Council Code of Conduct - Published: 21 Aug 2006

The local Government Act 1993 requires every council to adopt a code of conduct that incorporates the provisions of The Model Code of Conduct for Local Councils in NSW. Councillors, members of staff of Council and delegates of Blayney Shire Council must comply with the applicable provisions of Council's Code of Conduct. It is the personal responsibility of Council officials to comply with the standards in the Code and regularly review their personal circumstances with this in mind. Council contractors and volunteers will also be required to observe the relevant provisions of Council's Code of Conduct constitutes misbehaviour. Failure by a member of staff to comply with Council's Code of Conduct may give rise to disciplinary action.

Code of Meeting Conduct - Published: 23 Aug 2006

Section 360 (3) of the Local Government Act 1993, requires a Council and a committee of a Council of which all the members are Councillors must conduct its meetings in accordance with the code of meeting practice adopted by it.The objective of the Code of Meeting Practice is to provide a model for the convening and conduct of Council and Committee meetings. It establishes policy and guidelines for Council and promotes accountability to the community.
