The Central West Catchment Management Authority is one of thirteen organisations that were established in late 2004 as part of major natural resource management reforms in NSW.
Catchment Management Authorities are statutory authorities that report to the Minister for Climate Change, Environment and Water Resources. CMAs are funded by the NSW Government, with additional support from the Australian Government.
CMAs have responsibility for devolving operational, investment and decision-making natural resource functions to catchment level.
